Job summary

Lee & Hayes, PC, a premier IP law firm in Seattle, WA, seeks a qualified patent professional to join our mechanical systems and medical devices practice. You will prepare and prosecute patents, coordinate foreign filings, and work closely with in-house attorneys and inventors.

The ideal candidate has USPTO registration or is pursuing it, a technical degree in engineering or physics, and strong communication skills. Our collaborative culture supports career growth and client service excellence.

Qualifications

USPTO registration or commitment to take USPTO Registration Examination within 6 months of start date.
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering, physics, or related discipline.
Conscientious and detail-oriented.
Ability to communicate promptly and effectively with clients, attorneys, and staff.
Team player with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels.
Technical understanding of: Mechanical systems; Machinery and manufacturing equipment; Robotics; and/or Medical Devices.

Responsibilities

Patent preparation and prosecution across various technology areas with a focus on mechanical systems and medical devices.
May also include managing foreign prosecution and rendering opinions to clients.
Extensive and timely interaction with in-house attorneys, inventors, and Firm practitioners.
