Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking a Patent Attorney with 3+ years in patent preparation and prosecution in the semiconductor space. The ideal candidate will draft, prosecute, and manage patent portfolios for cutting-edge technologies, including U.S. and international matters.

You will collaborate with seasoned lawyers and engineers, mentor junior staff, and contribute to firm growth. This hybrid New York opportunity offers a high-impact role, competitive compensation, and bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Hands-on semiconductor patent drafting and prosecution experience.
• Active USPTO registration.
• New York Bar admission for attorneys based in New York or California Bar admission for attorneys based in San Jose.

• Draft and prosecute patent applications involving semiconductors, electrical engineering, and emerging technologies.
• Develop strategic patent portfolios for innovative companies across diverse industries.
• Manage U.S. and international patent prosecution matters.
• Conduct third-party patent rights analyses and help clients navigate complex IP challenges.

Enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid schedule while collaborating with our team in either New York City. Candidates should be able to commute regularly to their selected office.

Note

Candidates must have 3+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience, a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, substantial semiconductor patent drafting and prosecution experience, and USPTO registration. Patent Attorneys must also hold the applicable state bar admission.
