The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing and communication, along with familiarity with U.S. and international patent law. Responsibilities include drafting patent applications, evaluating patentability, and advising on patent portfolio strategies.

Qualifications

• Strong academic credentials with technical writing and communication skills.
• Familiarity with U.S. and international patent law, especially in life sciences and biotech.
• Eligibility to sit for the USPTO registration examination if not already registered.

Responsibilities

• Draft patent applications, including detailed specifications and claims.
• Perform prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Evaluate patentability, validity, and infringement risks of scientific inventions.
• Support IP due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and licensing transactions.
• Conduct IP landscape and competitive intelligence analyses.
• Advise on patent portfolio development and management strategies.
• Manage clients' patent portfolios and prepare responses to office actions.
• Collaborate with attorneys and clients to align IP strategies with business goals.
