Job summary

Alan B. Miller Medical Center is seeking a Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Registered Nurse for per diem day shifts. The PAT RN will coordinate preoperative assessments, review tests, and liaise with physicians to optimize surgical readiness.

Responsibilities include patient education, ensuring required documentation, and minimizing delays. Florida RN licensure with BLS/ACLS is required; ADN is mandatory with BSN preferred. Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• ADN is required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Active Florida RN License, BLS and ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and complete the preoperative assessment for patients scheduled for surgery.
• Review diagnostic testing and coordinate with physicians and ancillary departments.
• Provide patient education and ensure documentation and clearances are completed.
• Identify risks early to reduce delays and cancellations prior to day of surgery.
