Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking a PAT Nurse to join our Day Surgery team. You will provide direct patient care within the RN scope, perform pre-operative testing, and coordinate care from admission to discharge. The role emphasizes patient education, safety, and teamwork in a busy surgical environment.

Ideal candidates hold a TX RN license (compact acceptable), BSN within 24 months of hire, and current BLS. ACLS must be obtained within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
• Adult Acute care experience at least one-year procedural or care navigation experience preferred.
• Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license.
• Current AHA or ARC BLS provider.
• Current AHA or ARC ACLS required within one year of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the RN scope, emphasizing Day Surgery.
• Perform pre-op patient calls to drive education and satisfaction.
• Complete patient pre-operative testing and point of care testing.
• Delegate tasks and ensure safe post-anesthesia care coordination.
• Participate in Day Surgery initiatives and process improvements.
• Train new staff on PAT nurse responsibilities and processes.
