DO & CO AG in New York is seeking a dedicated Pastry Helper to join our growing culinary team. You will assist with fruit preparation, cutting, and basic pastry-related tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have some kitchen experience and are comfortable standing for long periods, lifting, and working shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. We offer meals, benefits, and opportunities for growth within a luxury hospitality group.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in fruit preparation or similar kitchen environment preferred.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Familiarity with different produce-cutting and slicing techniques.
• Knife skills and experience using food-preparation equipment.
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and product quality.

Responsabilités

• Wash, peel, trim, slice, chop, dice, and shred fruits according to production requirements.
• Prepare produce using various cutting techniques like slices, dices, julienne, wedges.
• Use knives, peelers, slicing equipment safely and correctly.
• Ensure cuts are accurate, consistent, and meet recipe/presentation specs.
• Inspect produce for freshness and quality before preparation.
• Measure and mix ingredients as directed by supervisor or culinary team.
• Assist with inventory and help keep the department stocked.
• Notify supervisor when ingredients or supplies are running low.
• Minimize food waste by proper preparation, trimming, storage procedures.
• Keep workstations and equipment clean and organized.
• Follow Food Safety Management System guidelines.
