Job summary

DO & CO in Des Plaines, IL invites a Pastry Helper to join our hospitality-focused kitchen team. You will support pastry production, assist chefs, and help with fruit prep, plating, and station rotation while upholding food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Able to manage through a substantial workload.
• Capable to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Able to complete assigned tasks within the given time to meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to work long hours on foot and in environments with varying temperatures.
• Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist pastry production team, chefs, and cooks with mixing pastry products, plating cold meals such as fruit salads and pastries.
• Use knife skills for cutting and peeling fruit.
• Perform tasks in different stations such as Fruit cutting, economy packing, juice, basket, assembling and plating foods.
• Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations as stated in the food safety management system handbook.
• Report problems with the food safety management system to the manager and hygiene/food safety team.
• Keep immediate work area clean at all times and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
