Job summary

The Pastry Intern at The Sweeterie Confectionery Kitchen inside Hersheypark is a Fall 2026 internship placed within Hersheypark Entertainment Complex. You will assist daily baking and pastry production in a fast-paced park environment, contributing to the guest experience and culinary teams.

Responsibilities include following recipes, maintaining cleanliness, practicing FIFO, and working collaboratively with supervisors and peers to ensure high standards and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be enrolled in a pastry arts program or have one year of full production bakery experience.
• Completion of high school or GED.

• Prepare all baking and pastry processes following recipe and guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment and station daily; uphold hygiene and uniform standards.
• Check quality for mise en place, practice FIFO and prep levels.
• Complete designated prep levels while maintaining food quality and efficient product usage.
• Accept leadership and carry out tasks for the team; collaborate with partners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

The Pastry Intern is responsible for completing regular daily food production in support of The Sweeterie Confectionery Kitchen and Milton's Ice Cream Parlor.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

Prepare all assigned baking and pastry processes following recipe and presentation guidelines.*

Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment and station on a daily basis; maintain standards of good personal hygiene and proper uniform guidelines.*

Check quality of food items needed for daily mise en place, practicing proper rotation (FIFO) and prep levels.*

Complete designated prep levels with consistency and without sacrificing food quality; maintain a high standard of food quality with demonstrated efficiency in the utilization of products to control food products.*

Accept leadership and direction in order to carry out assigned tasks for the good of the team. Demonstrate fellowship skills within work group or station partners.*

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

18 years of age or older

Must be enrolled in a pastry arts program or have one year of experience working in a full production bakery

Completion of high school or GED

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficient working with details on a daily basis for prolonged periods of time.

Displays and understands basic pastry skills and has solid baking techniques.

Ability to communicate effectively as a team player with supervisors, employees and customers.

Job Demands:

• Company coordinated housing may be available for this opportunity depending on start date and availability for a weekly fee of $160.
• This program is available for a Fall (August/September through December/January 2026/2027.)
