Job summary

DO & CO group in Miami, FL is seeking a hardworking PastryHelper to join our growing pastry team. This role supports the kitchen with fruit preparation and seasonal pastry production, ensuring quality and consistency.

You will wash, cut, and prepare produce, follow recipes, maintain clean workstations, and help manage inventory. The position offers competitive pay, daily meals, and benefits for eligible full-time staff.

Qualifications

  • One year of experience in fruit preparation or a similar kitchen environment.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with different produce-cutting and slicing techniques.
  • Knife skills and experience using food-preparation equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail, consistency, cleanliness, and product quality.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods and safely lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling products or supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Wash, peel, trim, slice, chop, dice, and shred fruits according to production requirements.
  • Prepare produce using various cutting techniques, including uniform slices, dices, julienne cuts, wedges, and other specified styles.
  • Use knives, peelers, slicing equipment, and other food-preparation tools safely and correctly.
  • Ensure all cuts are accurate, consistent, and completed according to recipe and presentation specifications.
  • Inspect produce for freshness, quality, and suitability before preparation.
  • Measure and mix ingredients as directed by the supervisor or culinary team.
  • Assist with inventory and help ensure the department remains properly stocked.
  • Notify the supervisor when ingredients, products, or supplies are running low.
  • Minimize food waste by following proper preparation, trimming, portioning, and storage procedures.
  • Keep workstations, equipment, tools, and preparation areas clean, sanitary, and organized.
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations outlined in the Food Safety Management System handbook.
  • Report food safety, product quality, or operational concerns to management and the Hygiene and Food Safety team.
  • Support a positive, cooperative, and efficient kitchen environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

  • Flexible availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
