Job summary

DO & CO AG in Des Plaines, IL, seeks a dynamic Pastry Helper to support our pastry production team with mixing, fruit prep, and plating pastries, while working across multiple stations. You will follow food safety guidelines and ensure quality throughout the shift.

Ideal candidates can handle a substantial workload, work well in a team, and stay on feet during long hours in varying temperatures, including nights weekends and holidays. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting pastry production and fruit prep.

• Willingness to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist pastry production team with mixing and plating pastry items.
• Use knife skills for cutting and peeling fruit.
• Operate at various stations (fruit cutting, economy packing, juice, assembling and plating).
• Maintain cleanliness and comply with food safety regulations as stated in the handbook.
• Report issues to supervisor and the food safety team.
• Keep the immediate work area clean at all times.

Responsibilities

• Assist pastry production team, chefs, and cooks with mixing pastry products, plating cold meals such as fruit salads and pastries.
• Use knife skills for cutting and peeling fruit.
• Perform tasks in different station such as (Fruit cutting station, economy packing station, juice station, basket station, assembling and plating food etc.).
• Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations as stated in the food safety management system handbook.
• Report problems with the food safety management system to their manager and the hygiene and food safety team.
• Keep immediate work area clean at all times and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• Capable to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Able to complete assigned tasks within the given time to meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to work long hours on foot and in environments with varying temperatures.
• Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs.
