Job summary

DO & CO in Des Plaines, IL is seeking a dynamic Pastry Helper to join our hospitality-focused team. You will assist pastry production, plate pastries and cold foods, and help maintain safety and cleanliness in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires the ability to work long hours on your feet, flexible shifts including nights and weekends, and strong teamwork. We offer competitive pay, daily meals, and benefits for full-time staff in a global luxury catering company.

Qualifications

• Able to manage through a substantial workload.
• Capable to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Able to complete assigned tasks within the given time to meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to work long hours on foot and in environments with varying temperatures.
• Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist pastry production team, chefs, and cooks with mixing pastry products, plating cold meals such as fruit salads and pastries.
• Use knife skills for cutting and peeling fruit.
• Perform tasks in different station such as (Fruit cutting station, economy packing station, juice station, basket station, assembling and plating food etc.)
• Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations as stated in the food safety management system handbook
• Report problems with the food safety management system to their manager and the hygiene and food safety team
• Keep immediate work area clean at all times and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
