Job summary

The Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe is seeking a Pastry Assistant to join the on-site team in San Diego, CA. The role supports the pastry team in delivering high-quality desserts and baked goods for members and events.

Responsibilities include preparing pastry components, baking, dessert plating, mise en place, inventory rotation, and proper storage, while following strict food safety and hygiene standards. Weekend/evening/holiday shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in pastry or bakery operations producing pastries, breads, and desserts.
• Cooking skills to assist with prep, production, and coordination with culinary team.
• Strong hygiene practices, knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
• Creativity to contribute to dessert presentation and seasonal offerings.
• Prior professional pastry/bakery environment experience preferred (hospitality/club/resort).
• Knowledge of pastry techniques; culinary education is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare pastry components and bake pastries and breads.
• Assist with dessert plating and maintain consistent presentation standards.
• Support daily mise en place, rotate inventory, and store ingredients properly.
