Job summary

Tony's Fresh Market in Illinois is seeking a Pastry Decorator to join the bakery team. You will prepare fresh baked goods daily, decorate cakes, manage displays, and assist customers with product selection while upholding company values of integrity, respect, and collaboration.

Ideal candidates have pastry decorating experience, customer service skills, and a valid food handler card. This role offers competitive hourly pay and benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Valid Food Handlers Card.
• Customer Service, pastry decorating, and retail experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers to address questions or concerns in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Assist Pastry team with preparing desserts and pastries as needed.
• Take cake orders, ensure the department has fresh fruits and products, and maintain a fully stocked display case.
• Support team with baking various breads, cookies, and desserts.
• Decorate cakes and pastries for customers.
• Use artistic skills to create beautifully decorated cakes and pastries and mix colors for icing.
• Effectively communicate with management and baking team to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and/or other team members.
• Conduct inventory on a regular basis to ensure proper levels.
• Maintain standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, department conditions, and food safety.
• Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of all bakery products and discarding outdated or spoiled items.
• Work with various professional Bakery equipment, including heat sources, mixers, and blenders.
• Take food orders in person and by telephone.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Customer Service: Demonstrates personal Customer Service excellence. Engages with customers always.
• Improves speed and efficiency of service provided.
