Job summary

Sun Valley Company in Sun Valley, ID seeks a Pastry Cook to craft breads, desserts, and pastries for our resort's restaurants and banquets. The role supports the Pastry Chef and Pastry Sous Chef in producing high-quality baked goods that meet Sun Valley’s culinary standards.

Responsibilities include preparing breads per recipes, assisting in new bakery items, maintaining par levels, monitoring inventory, and ensuring clean, sanitary work areas and equipment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a culinary or pastry program or 5 years of industry experience.
• Fluent English is mandatory for clear communication.
• Ability to learn and handle kitchen equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Prepare breads and baked goods according to resort recipes and standards.
• Assist in developing new bakery items for menus across outlets.
• Maintain appropriate par levels to meet event and outlet demands.
• Monitor inventory and communicate needs for ingredients and supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and bakery equipment.
• Operate bakery equipment including bread slicers, steam kettles, sheeters, mixers, ovens, and walk-ins.
• Follow safety procedures when using equipment and handling food.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Pastry Chef or management.
