Job summary

Paramount Events is seeking a skilled Pastry Cook to join our culinary team in Chicago. This role supports our pastry program across catering events and eden, focusing on quality, presentation and guest experience in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in a high-volume setting, a Food Handler's certification, and strong pastry knowledge including plated desserts and laminated doughs. Weekend availability is required and you must be able to stand for long periods and lift up

Qualifications

• Food Handler's certification.
• 2+ years of related experience in a high-volume setting.
• Basic pastry knowledge including plated desserts, petite sweets, and laminated doughs.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.

Responsibilities

• Produce a variety of pastries for catering events and eden restaurant.
• Take inventory and track ingredients for consistent production.
• Note changes and discrepancies between lists and event paperwork.
• Uphold sanitation and food safety standards and keep work areas clean.
• Follow proper cooling, storage, thawing and heating methods for Ready to Eat foods.
• Complete opening and closing duties and manage kitchen equipment safely.
