The Pastry Cook’s responsibilities include preparing quality pastry items created by the Executive Pastry Chef, such as desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, creams, simple syrups, amenities, displays/centerpieces and special request items, as well as helping keep the kitchen running smoothly. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in culinary arts with a passion for sweet and delicious creations. Some of their key duties and responsibilities include:

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Proficient in English or Spanish is a plus
  2. Ability to stand on your feet for several hours
  3. High School diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
  4. Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship preferred
  5. Demonstrates adequate pastry skills and operations
  6. Be able to plan and prepare for restaurant, catering and special event
  7. Technical Skills - Pursues training and development opportunities; Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills; Shares expertise with others
  8. Oral Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions
  9. Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent
  10. Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan
  11. Initiative - Volunteers readily; Undertakes self-development activities
