Job summary

Alderbrook Resort & Spa is seeking a Pastry Cook to craft desserts and dessert components for our guests in a morning-shift role.

Expect 30+ hours per week with a regular, permanent status in Union, WA. The pay ranges from $19 to $25 per hour, plus a service charge average. A strong bakery background and weekend availability are required.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years' commercial baking/pastry experience required.
  • Alternate: pastry arts degree with 6+ months' experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare pastries, baked goods, and dessert components using established recipes.
  • Ensure each item meets quality, taste, and presentation standards before it goes out.
  • Follow portion sizes, prep methods, and plating guidelines consistently.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workstation.
  • Handle, store, and rotate ingredients using FIFO.
  • Assist with prep during slower periods and support the team during closing.
  • Complete the closing checklist for pastry and kitchen stations.
  • Join team meetings and contribute ideas.

Summary

As a Pastry Cook you'll be the artist behind our delightful desserts, making sure every sweet treat from our menu looks as good as it tastes.

We're looking for someone who can...
  • Prepare pastries, baked goods, and dessert components using established recipes.

Qualifications
  • Required | 2+ years' commercial baking/pastry experience, or:
  • Alt. Required | Degree in pastry arts with 6+ months' commercial baking/pastry experience
  • Flexible work availability including weekends required
  • WA Food Worker Card required within 14 days after hire
  • Equivalent education, skills, and/or experience necessary to perform the essential functions may be considered
