Responsibilities

• Station prep: scale ingredients and prepare foundational elements like doughs, batters, creams, sauces.
• Execution: assist with baking, assembling, and decorating pastries and desserts during early morning production.
• Kitchen operations: maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation per food safety standards.
• Inventory support: assist with deliveries, FIFO rotation, and monitoring ingredient freshness.

Early Morning Pastry Commis (Wed-Sun) | Perfect Entry-Level Role for ACI Talent

We are seeking a passionate and driven Pastry Commis to join our pastry team. In this entry-level role, you will work directly under the guidance of senior pastry staff. You will learn classical techniques, master foundational recipes, and ensure our pastry station runs efficiently. This is an ideal position for a current culinary student or a recent graduate looking to launch their career in a professional kitchen.

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour - may be negotiable based on experience
• Schedule: 5 days per week, Early Morning Shift (Wednesday – Sunday)
• Hours: Full-time and part-time shifts are available to accommodate school schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Station Prep: Scale ingredients accurately and prepare foundational elements including doughs, batters, creams, and sauces.
• Execution: Assist with baking, assembling, and decorating a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods during early morning production.
• Kitchen Operations: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in compliance with food safety standards.
• Inventory Support: Assist with receiving deliveries, rotating stock (FIFO), and monitoring ingredient freshness.

Qualifications

• Degree or current enrollment in a Pastry/Culinary Arts program (such as Arizona Culinary Institute) preferred.
• Basic understanding of weights, measures, and baking terminology.
• Ability to stand for long periods and comfortably handle early morning shifts.
