Seahorse NYC is hiring an experienced pastry chef to join our team. We are committed to providing an unparalleled dining experience for our guests and seek a team leader who can positively impact our thriving business.

We are looking for an individual passionate about pastry to coordinate the organization, planning, and quality control of our products. This role involves developing employees in the Kitchen’s bake/pastry shop through effective management and leadership to meet established standards.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist in menu planning and development, ensuring correct preparation and presentation of all food items.
  2. Control labor and operating expenses through effective organization, purchasing decisions, and inventory management.
  3. Maintain sanitation standards as per Four Seasons, local, state, and federal regulations, and ensure kitchen cleanliness and organization.
  4. Communicate effectively with staff and management to meet operational needs and attend regular meetings for coordination.
  5. Work harmoniously with co-workers and supervisors.
  6. Type, cost recipes, create pick-up charts, and utilize spreadsheets to enhance work efficiency.
  7. Ensure food quality through regular inspections and quality checks.
  8. Inspire and motivate team members; conduct team-building activities.
  9. Maintain a strong floor presence to develop the pastry team and contribute to operational success.
  10. Work flexible shifts and areas within the pastry kitchen to meet business needs and support growth within the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. At least 4 years of culinary experience with 1 year of supervisory experience in a pastry kitchen.
  2. Creativity and innovation to ensure continuous evolution of offerings.

The successful candidate will have a flexible schedule, be able to work weekends and holidays, be fluent in English, possess legal work authorization in the U.S., and hold DOH Certification.
