Responsibilities

  • Present and prepared to begin work at the start of scheduled shifts.
  • Prepares bread, rolls, muffins, cakes, pastries, donuts and other baked goods according to recipes.
  • Monitor goods being produced in the Bakehouse to ensure the highest quality of finished product.
  • Checks production schedule to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake.
  • Operates Bakehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a high level of production in order to supply multiple locations.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workspace throughout shift.
  • Use proper storage, cooling and labeling procedures.
  • Ensure that unsellable items are properly disposed of.
  • Fulfill all shift duties.
  • Maintain Bakehouse and food storage areas in sanitary, orderly condition meeting Health Department standards.
  • Comply with Health Department regulations including head coverings, proper dress, drinks, and hand washing.
  • Willingness to increase product knowledge over time.
  • Attend all staff meetings and trainings.
  • Participate in quarterly inventories.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Bakehouse Supervisor, Fresh Manager, or Operations Leads.
  • May be designated according to specialty baked or scheduled Bakehouse shifts.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-2 plus years of previous baking experience.
  • Handles self in professional manner.
  • Ability to project an outgoing, friendly, helpful personality.
  • Ability to handle & prioritize multiple demands.
  • Ability to follow recipes.
  • Regular, predictable attendance; flexibility in scheduling

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High volume baking experience

Willingness and ability to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the job.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment.
  • Required frequently: standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezers etc.)
