Job summary

Temple Square Hospitality is seeking a Pastry Assistant for a part-time bakery role in Salt Lake City. The position offers 15–25 hours per week across 3–4 shifts and pay ranging from $18 to $21 per hour.

You will assist with dough, batter, fillings, and decorating pastries in a fast-paced, experience-focused kitchen. Competitive pay and opportunities for growth are offered, with Sundays off and flexible scheduling available.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or pastry environment preferred.
• Knowledge of basic pastry techniques, tools, and terminology.
• Ability to follow recipes, measurements, and instructions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing dough, batter, filling, frosting, etc.
• Help shape, portion, and decorate pastries and desserts
• Weigh, measure, and organize ingredients according to recipes
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, including equipment and utensils
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Assist with inventory management and ordering of baking supplies
• Communicate effectively with management to ensure smooth operations
• Perform other duties as assigned

JOB ENVIRONMENT/OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• May be required to work outside of regular business hours, including weekends, early mornings, and holidays, to accommodate business needs
• Standing and walking for extended periods of time
• Ability to repetitively bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check, as well as abide by all company policies
• Takes on additional duties as required or assigned by management

COMPENSATION:

$18.00 - $21.00/hour. This range is inclusive of multiple job levels. Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
