Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City, Iowa is pursuing pastoral interns to grow and thrive with us. Interns join a multi-staff church with opportunities to grow and serve in almost any area of congregational ministry, including a thriving Wednesday youth program and varied worship styles.

We are connected with nearby LCMC congregations and mission partners for a range of ministry experiences. Housing and/or a reasonable stipend are available, with potential scholarships for some interns.

Job description

Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City, Iowa is looking for another intern or two who want to GROWand THRIVE with us!

Our interns willbe joining a multi-staff church with opportunities to grow and serve in almost any area of congregational ministry. We have a thriving Wednesday youth ministry, we incorporate a variety of woship styles, and we are well represented in every age group from 0-100. Our congregational DNA is missional and kingdom-minded.

We are also in close proximity to Riverside Bible Camp and a half dozen other LCMC congregations who we are well-connected with - giving interns an opportunity to see and experience a variety of ministries while in central Iowa. We may also have opportunitites to connect with a variety of our 20+ Mission Partners for a different range of ministry experiences.

Pastoral interns will be given oppotunities to grow in their pastoral compentencies and preaching as we work to accomodate internship requirement for your school. We are also open to conversations with undergrad students who sense or are discerning a call to vocational ministry. Contracts with us will usually be 9-months for the school year, but we have often had an intern in the summer as well, and most of our interns have served more than one year with us.

Housing and/or a reasaonable stipend will be available in the right situation, and for some, we can offer scholarships and other opportunities for ministry and immersion experiences.
