Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ seeks a Part-Time Pastoral Intern at Messiah Lutheran Church in Joliet, Illinois. The internship provides hands-on ministry experience under the Senior Pastor, with a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.

The intern will assist with pastoral care, worship preparation, teaching, and congregational life while serving alongside the pastor and staff. Compensation is hourly and commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pastor in visiting and providing care for members who are sick, hospitalized, or homebound.
• Preaching and development of sermons to preach once a month.
• Help teach and guide confirmation classes, assisting with lesson planning and student engagement.
• Participate in worship services and other church gatherings as appropriate.
• Attend and assist with congregational events, meetings, and special services.
• Support general ministry operations and help strengthen connections within the congregation.
• Maintain confidentiality and represent Messiah Lutheran Church with professionalism and Christian care.

  Position Summary:

  Messiah Lutheran Church, LCMC Association,isseekinga compassionate and motivated Pastoral Intern toassistthe pastor in carrying out the ministry and mission of the congregation. The intern will gain hands-on experience in pastoral care, worship preparation, teaching, and congregational life while serving alongside the pastor and staff.
