We are seeking a biblical, Christ-centered, Spirit-filled, English-speaking pastor to lead the vibrant, non-denominational English ministry of our Chinese church. Our diverse congregation welcomes people of all ages and ethnicities and currently includes many high school and college students and young professionals.

The English Ministry operates independently while maintaining close connection and collaboration with the Chinese congregation. The pastor will shepherd and equip God’s people through preaching, discipleship, and community outreach, fostering spiritual growth and unity.

Overview of TCCC English Ministry

We are a simple and sincere local body of believers who seek to do God's will and follow Him wherever He leads us. As Christ commands, we strive to love God, love one another, grow in our faith, and lead nonbelievers to Jesus.

We are Protestant and non-denominational. As the English branch of a Chinese church, we serve English speakers of all ages and ethnicities, although the current demographic is mostly Chinese, with age spread between 12-35 years old. The children’s ministry, serving 11 and younger, is collaborative, but separate. We value connection and collaboration with the Chinese side of our church; while our services are separate, we gather together once a month in a bilingual service, and collaborate occasionally on events.

Here, you will find a group of eager, sincere people who want to grow in the faith and serve the Lord. You will find God at work, saving lives, and stirring revival in the hearts and lives of teenagers and young adults. Yet, you will find many meaningful pastoral opportunities to fulfill, since the coworkers have limited capacity. For the past five years, following the departure of our previous pastor, our church has continued forward through the service of dedicated coworkers. Their commitment has sustained the ministry but our congregation is ready for the next chapter in which we believe God is preparing a shepherd to lead, equip and walk with us.

Our prayer is to find a biblical, Christ-centered, Spirit-filled pastor who is sincerely called by God to this pastoral position - someone bold, yet humble, devoted to the Lord and His people - someone who will follow God to take us to the next level of revival God will lead us, so that our God may be glorified, His will be done, His people built up & saved, and His kingdom expanded.

Expected Duties of Pastor

• Devoted to GOD throughout ministry. We need someone to whom God is truly everything, even more than ministry. We have an eager coworker team who will protect and support your walk with God and share the ministry burden, if you will also put your obedience and love for God first. If married, your spouse is warmly welcome to be involved in church life and ministry though there is no expectation of service or unpaid responsibilities
• Strong prayer life.
• Preach the word of God on Sundays.
• Provide general guidance and leadership over teaching content (for Sunday school, Friday fellowship, etc.)
• Discipleship/counseling for young adults (and young families).
• Development of evangelism within and outside the church.
• Pastoring/caring for people.
• Must have confirmed calling from God to claim TCCC English ministry as flock, for the long-term.
• Collaborate with elders and pastors on both Chinese and English sides to have spiritual oversight over the affairs of the church.

• Have a balanced, biblical worldview. Some examples include:
• Hold to biblical views of abortion and LGBTQ
• Prioritize theology over politics, but willing to address politics theologically
• Fluent in English, and understands Asian-American culture

Tenets the pastor must abide by:

• Biblical. Everything we do at church, we aim to follow the teaching of Scripture. The pastor is no exception, and must submit to and proclaim wholeheartedly the word of God.
• Prayerful. We resolve to bring every matter to God in prayer, and seek His will.
• Unity. We believe in God’s teaching on unity in the body, and while you would have authority as a pastor, we operate as a team of brothers and sisters, and we should wrestle for unity and one mind in ministry.
• Lead flock by example and action, not merely by word.
• Appreciation for East Asian cultural values. You would be serving and collaborating with Chinese people, so having that cultural understanding is important.
