The Evangelical Free church of Clinton Corners NY, is seeking a full time Pastor to shepherd our church family.

Community Profile

Evangelical Free Church is a Bible believing community that seeks to be a light for Christ in Dutchess County NY. Clinton Corners, is a peaceful, scenic, and historic hamlet in the town of Clinton, located within the beautiful Hudson river valley, whose congregation draws from a wide area of the county. This property includes a sanctuary built in 2020, a large 2 story family parsonage separated from the church built in 2004, an elementary school with a large gymnasium, and a new high-school building completed in 2026. Upton Lake Christian School, the largest of our ministries, founded in 1976, as a K-12 sharing the campus with the church. Our collective mission is to serve God with joy, in unity, proclaiming the Gospel in word and deed.

Key Pastoral Responsibilities

Preaching & Teaching

To Shepherd the flock of God, feeding and guiding them primarily through the preaching and teaching of God’s Word. John 21

Facilitate the making of disciples

• Primarily through the preaching and teaching of God's Word.
• Through sustaining a small group ministry of Bible Studies and prayer times designed for everyone, strengthening the church family in the Word, Prayer and fellowship.
• By establishing Counseling is a gift and a skill that will vary from Pastor to Pastor. Helping people through a crisis, or a sin addiction or a struggling marriage are the duties every pastor will have to complete from time to time. Passing church family members to competent biblical counselors is a valid option.

Caring for the Flock

The pastor will visit regularly those members unable to attend services for health reasons.

The pastor will make visits to the hospital when members are admitted.

The pastor will coordinate the Elders and church family members to assist with visiting.

The pastor and Elders will regularly and constantly pray for the needs of the flock.

Leadership

The pastor will oversee the worship services with the help of the Elders and worship leader.

The pastor will protect the theological purity of the pulpit by securing preachers when needed.

The pastor will lead the monthly regular elder meetings and monthly prayer meetings.

The pastor will attend from time to time and when needed the monthly deacon meetings.

The pastor will live a life that reflects Christian maturity with the fruits of God's Spirit.

Evangelism

The Pastor will conduct funerals of the church families with worship, comfort and evangelism in mind.

The Pastor will conduct weddings with worship, celebration and evangelism in mind.

The Pastor will conduct evangelistic services coordinated with holidays and other special events.

Upton Lake Christian School

ULCS is a K-12 Christian School that has been serving Dutchess County with excellent education and with a thoroughly Christian worldview since 1976. ULCS is an important ministry of the Free Church, and broadens the opportunity for evangelistic and discipleship ministry. The pastor and elder board ultimately oversee the direction and philosophy of ULCS, although its day-to-day operations are run by a principal and its own school board.

The pastor's duties with ULCS

• To pray for the school and pray with the Elders for the school.
• To attend asg an environment of mentoring through one with one training.
• By modeling a disciples' humble, loving and righteous lifestyle.

Counseling

many school Bd. Meetings as thought necessary.

To meet with the principal regularly for counsel and updates concerning the school.

To help keep harmony between the church and school.

The Pastor's Character

The Pastor should be a committed follower and disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Pastor should be a humble servant, knowing he is serving Christ as he serves the flock.

The Pastor must prioritize His family and make sure the church does not overwhelm His duties as loving husband and committed father.

His Character must reflect Paul's listed pastoral character traits in 1 Timothy Chapter 3 & Titus Chapter 1.

He must reflect the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5: 22-24.

He should be primarily spiritually gifted as a pastor/teacher. Ephesians 4:12

He must be a model to the flock in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity. 1 Timothy 4:12
