Job description

Our North Babylon Store is seeking a Part-Time Pasta Clerk for its Pasta/Mozzarella Department. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys making pasta and working in a gourmet store environment. The Pasta Clerk is responsible for creating outstanding customer experiences through exceptional service, making fresh pasta, packing products, and merchandising products on shelves for customer purchase.

Responsibilities

1. Accurately complete daily production batch and record entries.
2. Make pasta products following company recipes and standards.
3. Weigh and package pasta for freezer or refrigerator sales.
4. Perform quality control for all packaging and production operations.
5. Handle all pasta inventory carefully to avoid damage.
6. Visually inspect the appearance of finished products to meet specifications.
7. Monitor code dates, labels, seal integrity, and product quality throughout all processes.
8. Maintain a neat and clean workspace.
9. Safely operate all department equipment used for making pasta.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Must be 18 years or older.
3. Minimum of 1 year of experience making pasta.
4. Knowledge of packaging and/or production operations is preferred.
5. Accurate record-keeping of daily packaging and production.
6. Trained and proficient in food safety and sanitation programs.
7. Maintain condition of the department, equipment, and inventory per GMPs and policies.
8. Ability to speak, read, and communicate in English.
9. Commitment to quality and willingness to learn pasta making.

Working Conditions

1. Moving about on hard surfaces; frequent bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
