Meat Clerk - PT (Food Services)

Our North Babylon store is seeking a part-time Meat Clerk for its busy department. We work weekends to serve our customers, so bring your customer service skills and join our team today. Butchering skills are not needed but will be welcomed!

Our Meat Clerks provide assistance to customers by offering excellent customer service and helping with their shopping needs in the Meat Department. Responsibilities include:

1. Receiving and unpacking meat, cleaning and sanitizing equipment and surfaces following company guidelines.
2. Answering customer questions about meats and poultry, making product recommendations.
3. Weighing, packaging, wrapping, and labeling cuts of meat and poultry, including grinding meats.
4. Assisting in packaging freshly cut meats and poultry, including grinding hamburger meat.
5. Inspecting and storing meat upon delivery, ensuring quality standards are met.
6. Maintaining fully stocked meat cases, rotating products based on expiration dates, and disposing of damaged or expired items according to guidelines.
7. Receiving and unpacking meat in coolers and freezers.
8. Cleaning and sanitizing all equipment and areas within the meat department.
9. Following store policies and procedures and performing other duties, including working in other departments as needed.

Requirements include:

• Being at least 18 years old.
• Previous experience in a Meat Department working with fresh meat.
• Knowledge of automatic or hand wrapping machines (preferred).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent customer service.
• Availability to work all shifts as scheduled.
