Job summary

Right at Home Columbia is hiring caregivers to provide in-home personal care and companionship. You will assist clients with daily living activities, including mobility, grooming, meal prep, and light housekeeping, while ensuring safety and comfort in a home setting.

The role offers flexible scheduling, paid training, and opportunities for advancement. Competitive hourly pay ranges from $14 to $16, with performance-based incentives and travel time reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred.
• Ability to lift or move 50 lbs without assistance.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
• Must pass a background check.
• CNA, HHA or PCA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living.
• Help with transferring/moving clients within the home.
• Perform housekeeping duties (vacuuming, dusting, floors, dishes, linens, laundry, bathroom).
• Prepare meals and snacks per instructions.
• Accompany clients to errands or medical appointments.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, shaving.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Support ROM exercises as prescribed.
• Provide dementia care and companionship activities.

Responsibilities and Duties

In this role, you will have the chance to perform personal care activities that assist the client with activities of daily living, which include (but are not limited to):

• Assisting with transferring/moving client from place to place throughout their home
• Performing housekeeping activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning the bathroom
• Preparing meals and snacks according to instructions
• Accompanying client on errands or medical appointments
• Bathing/Showering/Dressing/Shaving
• Medication reminders
• Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
• Dementia care
• Companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles, etc.

Qualifications and Skills
