Job summary

METRO Houston seeks a Service Driver to operate alternate vehicles, transport passengers on defined routes, and interact with riders in a courteous, helpful manner. You will perform pre-trip inspections, document issues, and maintain safety and ADA compliance on every trip.

The role requires a valid Texas driver’s license, at least three years of driving experience, and a minimum of two years in customer-facing work. The position offers an hourly wage and strong safety responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years general work experience including driving and customer service.
• Must be a licensed driver for at least three years.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Valid Texas Driver’s license; meet METRO’s driving record requirements.

Responsibilities

• Transport passengers safely and courteously on scheduled routes.
• Operate and adjust trips via electronic tablet as directed by METRO control staff.
• Announce destinations and assist with transfers for riders.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and record any vehicle defects.
• Document trips and incidents; report accidents or unusual events.
• Follow ADA requirements and safety procedures at all times.
• Provide excellent customer service to METRO customers and staff.
