Mendocino Railway's Skunk Train is seeking a Conductor to join our team in Fort Bragg, CA. This full-time role requires FRA Conductor certification and involves safe operation, guest-facing service, and adherence to rail safety rules.

Qualifications

• Must currently hold FRA Conductor certification (49 CFR Part 242).
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Strong problem-solving and safety-focused mindset in a fast-paced environment.
• Situational awareness with ability to remain calm and focused.
• Ability to work effectively on a train crew and communicate professionally.
• Must meet FRA vision and hearing requirements and pass background checks.
• Reliable, punctual, and available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate trains safely in accordance with FRA regulations and company rules.
• Work with senior crew, dispatchers and management to ensure safe passenger movement.
• Maintain awareness of train location, speed, signals, and conditions; report hazards.
• Complete required inspections and safety checks; coordinate with maintenance teams.
• Interact with passengers, collect tickets, provide onboard information and assistance.
