Job summary

DeKalb County in Georgia seeks a transportation bus operator to drive a passenger mini-bus on daily routes between county facilities and overflow parking locations, delivering safe and courteous service. A valid Georgia Class C CDL with passenger endorsement is mandatory.

Responsibilities

Drives passenger mini-bus on an assigned route to transport passengers between County facilities and other designated locations in a safe and courteous manner.
Ensures safe loading and unloading of passengers, including operation of specialized equipment for passengers with special needs such as wheelchairs.
Assists individuals with physical and/or mental disabilities, ensuring passenger safety.
Communicates with passengers, providing information and responding to inquiries.
Performs pre- and post-trip bus inspection to ensure proper operating conditions, cleanliness of vehicle, and compliance with safety standards.
Reports any equipment malfunctions or potential problems with vehicle and coordinates with Fleet Maintenance for preventative maintenance and repair.
