Store – BALT-COLUMBIA, MD
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including children’s birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress‑free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop and find what they’re looking for. Ensure fast checkout. Complete operational tasks such as truck unload, merchandise duties, and store recovery standards as needed to deliver brand promises.
Event Coordination
- Plan and coordinate multiple events simultaneously, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
- Engage with clients of all ages to create an environment of fun and creativity.
- Demonstrate and instruct party participants in completing craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
- Facilitate party add‑ons (goody bags, balloons, etc.) to company standards.
- Communicate event details with clients and store team members.
- Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork.
- Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs.
- Create backup or emergency plans as required.
- Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
- Uphold cleanliness and safety standards; set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
Customer Experience
- Help customers shop, locate products, and provide solutions.
- Provide fast and friendly checkout.
- Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
- Educate customers on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
- Assist with omnichannel processes (BOPIS, SFS).
- Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram processes.
- Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance.
- Perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
- Support shrink and safety programs.
- Adhere to SOPs and company policies; ensure compliance with laws.
- Interact respectfully and positively; promote commitment to organization’s vision and values; serve as a role model.
- Cross‑train in Custom Framing selling and production.
- Participate in daily store cleanliness activities (sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, restroom upkeep).

Physical Requirements
- Remain standing for long periods.
- Move throughout the store.
- Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
- Lift heavy boxes and access high shelves with ladder or equipment.
Work Environment
- Public retail store setting; climate‑controlled public areas; some stock rooms may not be climate‑controlled; occasional outdoor work retrieving shopping carts or unloading trucks.
- Frame shop contains glass cutter and heat press.
- Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
Compensation
$16.00 - $18.80 per hour
