Vision Life is seeking dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide in-home support for adults with disabilities in Monrovia, CA. This part-time role offers opportunities to work Monday through Sunday with flexible scheduling and a commitment to promoting independence and personal choice.

You will assist with daily living activities, support community participation, and implement ISPs while maintaining a safe and respectful environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a DSP/SLS instructor or direct-care role preferred.
• Experience supporting adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities is a plus.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or to be obtained during onboarding.
• Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal care.
• Support meal preparation, household tasks, and safe living environment.
• Assist with community outings, appointments, shopping, and activities.
• Implement ISPs and follow established support plans.
• Provide appropriate support and redirection for behavioral challenges.
• Assist with medication routines according to guidelines.
• Complete documentation and service records accurately and on time.
• Encourage independence and life-skills development.

Vision Life is seeking dependable, compassionate, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide in-home support to adults with developmental and physical disabilities in Monrovia, CA.

Convenient Location: Monrovia is approximately 8 miles from Pasadena and 20 miles from Downtown Los Angeles, making this a great opportunity for applicants throughout the San Gabriel Valley and Greater Los Angeles area.

We are currently looking for part-time staff with availability Monday through Sunday. Candidates with flexible schedules, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and/or overnight availability, are strongly encouraged to apply.

As a DSP/SLS Instructor, you will work directly with individuals in their homes and communities, assisting them with daily living activities while promoting independence, dignity, safety, and personal choice.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal care as needed
• Support meal preparation, household tasks, and maintaining a safe living environment
• Assist with community outings, appointments, shopping, and other activities
• Implement Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and follow established support strategies
• Provide appropriate support and redirection for individuals who may have behavioral challenges
• Assist with medication routines according to established guidelines
• Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service records accurately and on time
• Encourage independence, life-skills development, and community participation
• Communicate professionally with clients, families, supervisors, and other members of the care team
• Maintain dependable and consistent attendance for scheduled shifts

Qualifications

• Experience as a DSP, SLS Instructor, caregiver, HCA, CNA, behavioral support staff, or similar direct-care role preferred
• Experience supporting adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities is a plus
• Must be compassionate, patient, professional, and dependable
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow client-specific care and behavioral support plans
• Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
• Current automobile insurance and vehicle registration preferred
• Must be able to meet background clearance and health screening requirements
• CPR/First Aid certification required or must be obtained as part of the onboarding process
