The Parts Specialist will provide all retail and installer customers with a high level of service. This position will also support store management in the accomplishment of assigned tasks.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Follow and promote all company customer service programs, e.g., Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling, Rock the Lot, etc.
  2. Promptly greet retail/walk-in customers in a friendly, courteous manner and assist them in their selection of merchandise.
  3. Assist managers and/or installer service specialists in serving professional customers as needed and directed.
  4. Complete assigned company training relevant to the position.
  5. Provide excellent service to customers calling the store by answering all calls per company policy, accurately looking up parts and quoting prices, recommending related items, and offering the Low-Price Guarantee.
  6. Accurately maintain and secure the cash drawer, process transactions, and handle cash/check/credit card payments.
  7. Process exchanges and returns according to company policies and procedures, in a friendly manner.
  8. Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
  9. Assist with daily tasks such as freight receival, stocking shelves, planogram updates, cleaning, etc.
  10. Perform operational tasks like merchandise returns, stock adjustments, inventory counts, etc.
  11. Operate store test equipment after training and meeting company requirements.
  12. Perform in-store services (where legal), such as installing wipers, testing batteries, scanning trouble codes, etc.
  13. Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle when needed, subject to driving record approval.
  14. All other duties as assigned.

Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities

  • Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
  • Outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently handling customers both in-store and on the phone.

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, Weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service.
  • ASE certification.
  • Fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish.
