A leading company in the housing industry is seeking a Material Handler to join their team in Seguin, Texas. This role involves unloading, loading, and stocking service parts in the warehouse, ensuring proper handling and staging of materials. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment while managing physical labor requirements. POSITION PURPOSE: The material handler is responsible for unloading, loading, and stocking all service parts at the service warehouse.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:
*Loads and unloads trucks as required.
*Stage materials for service parts delivery to retailer and contractors.
*Stock in-coming materials in warehouse.
*Help keep warehouse cleaned and organized.
*Verifies all shipping documents are available for inspection to ensure appropriate paperwork accompanies each delivery route.
*Inspects all warehouse handling equipment such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. Assures equipment is serviced in regular intervals to avoid unnecessary maintenance problems.
*Regularly inventories shipping supplies such as boxes and packing materials.
*Verifies quantity of parts ordered is quantity shipped.
*Receives and document for parts retuned new and D&O.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
KEY BUSINESS MEASURES:
*Complete and on time staging.
*Proper loading or parts and materials by individual contractor/retailer and by route.
*No damage to materials while handling, staging, and loading.
HIRING PROFILE
*Education:
*High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
*Work Experience
*One or more years’ experience as material handler.
*Experience in the housing industry preferred.
* Willing to train the right person with a great attitude.
*Other
*Good interpersonal skills.
*Some computer skills.
*Strong verbal communication skills.
*Enjoys working in team environment.
*Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs,
and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs.
*Must have and maintain forklift operation certification.
*Must be able to perform all duties of material handler on daily basis.
