Join to apply for the Parts Specialist role at O'Reilly Auto Parts.

The Parts Specialist will provide all retail and installer customers with a high level of service. This position also supports store management in accomplishing assigned tasks.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Follow and promote all company customer service programs, such as Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling, Rock the Lot, etc.
  2. Promptly greet retail/walk-in customers in a friendly, courteous manner and assist them in selecting merchandise.
  3. Assist managers and/or installer service specialists in serving professional customers as needed.
  4. Complete assigned company training relevant to the position.
  5. Provide excellent service to customers calling the store, answering calls per company policy, accurately looking up parts, quoting prices, recommending related items, and offering the Low-Price Guarantee.
  6. Accurately maintain and secure the cash drawer, process cash/check payments, make change, and handle credit card transactions.
  7. Process exchanges and returns in accordance with company policies.
  8. Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
  9. Assist with daily store operations such as freight receival, stocking, fronting, cleaning, and planogram updates.
  10. Perform operational tasks like merchandise returns, stock adjustments, and inventory counts.
  11. Operate store test equipment, including brake lathe, after training.
  12. Perform in-store services (where legal), such as installing wipers, testing batteries, and scanning vehicle trouble codes.
  13. Drive delivery vehicle as needed, provided driving record meets requirements.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities:

  • Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
  • Outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask effectively, handling phone and in-store customers simultaneously.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, Weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service.
  • ASE certification.
  • Fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish.
