O'Brien Auto Team is hiring a Parts Counter Specialist to support our growing service department. What You'll Do:
- Support Customers & Technicians: Assist walk-ins, callers, and internal staff with parts needs in a friendly, efficient manner.
- ️ Product Expertise: Recommend related parts and current promotions to ensure customers get everything they need — and then some.
- Phone Support: Provide quick, accurate quotes and information over the phone.
- Order Accuracy: Review estimates, confirm pricing, and place emergency or special orders when necessary.
- Prep & Delivery: Pull and prepare parts for delivery, tagging and tracking each item with precision.
- Inventory Coordination: Monitor backorders and ensure stock stays organized and up to date.
- Point of Sale: Process retail transactions and print invoices for every customer.
- Shop Tool Management: Track and issue tools to technicians as needed.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the parts counter neat, organized, and inviting.
- Ongoing Training: Stay sharp with regular product and manufacturer training.
- Team Player: Jump in to help wherever needed — we succeed together!
What You Bring to the Table:
- A valid Illinois driver’s license
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- The ability to stay calm, upbeat, and organized — even when it’s busy!
- A detail-oriented mindset and ability to follow processes
- High school diploma or GED required
- Parts or automotive experience is a bonus — but not required. We’re happy to train the right person!
Physical Requirements:
- On your feet for most of the day, with occasional bending and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
- Comfortable using computers, phones, and point-of-sale systems
- Reliable attendance — your team and our customers count on you!
