Qualifications

• Read catalogs to identify part numbers and prices.
• Explain substitutions or modifications when exact parts are unavailable.
• Process orders and collect payment or obtain credit authorization.

Responsibilities

• Read catalogs, microfiche, or computer displays to determine part stock numbers and prices.
• Determine replacement parts needed based on inspections or customer descriptions.
• Receive and fill telephone orders for parts.
• Fill customer orders from stock.
• Prepare parts counter tickets/slips.
• Receive payment or obtain credit authorization.
• Take inventory of stock.
• Advise customers on substitutions or modifications when exact replacements are not available.
• Examine returned parts for defects and exchange or refund as needed.
• Discuss parts features with customers based on machine knowledge.
• Demonstrate parts and functionality.
• Place new merchandise on display.
• Measure parts to ensure compatibility for machining.
