Receives, stores, and distributes parts, tools, equipment, and products within the shop and field. Operates computer and compiles data from vendor invoices and supporting documents to verify accuracy of billing data and inventory to ensure receipt of items ordered. Maintains shop work benches and floor to a cleanliness and safe environment. This role is a great opportunity for someone looking to get into the construction industry and the schedule can be flexible around someone attending school.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Sorts and places parts and materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined bin location.
  • Completes a Pre-Trip inspection of any piece of equipment before use. (Forklift, Pickup, Lawn Mower, Weed Wacker, etc.)
  • Drives company vehicle to pick up and deliver parts and/or materials from shop to parts supplier, mechanic or other locations in the field.
  • Loads and unloads trucks by hand or through the use of a forklift. (Must have or be able to obtain a forklift operator card)
  • Inspects and maintains stock levels, waste, and supplies such as oil, grease, rags, paper towels, etc.
  • Keeps all bays and workstations clean and cleans up behind mechanics and disposes of waste oil.
  • Keeps in communication with mechanics in the shop to meet their needs for parts, garbage cleanup, parts requests, etc.
  • Replenishes supplies daily, keeps common areas clean.
  • Removes snow around shop and yard.
  • Checks all lube levels and inspects trucks, forklifts and any equipment prior to use.
  • Maintains a detailed daily times sheet of jobs completed.
  • Preform physical inventory counts and light computer entries.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, suppliers, manufacturers, mechanics and field personnel.
  • Ability to do minor math computations.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
Working conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a heavy shop environment.

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
