Job summary

Peckham Industries, Inc. is seeking a Parts Runner to support field operations across the Eastern Region. You will ensure timely delivery of parts, tools, and supplies, mobilize equipment, and coordinate with vendors to confirm orders.

The role requires safe handling, route planning, and independent work in a fast-paced construction setting. Based in Palmer or Westfield, MA, you will travel regularly within the Eastern Region, maintain logs, and help keep crews productive and assets in service.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to obtain a DOT Medical Card/Medical Examiner's Certificate.
• Strong verbal and written communication in a professional manner.
• Comfortable operating a non-CDL truck and trailer and securing loads.
• Ability to plan routes, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
• Basic familiarity with construction/maintenance parts and tools.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Deploy maintenance inventory and supplies throughout the Eastern Region using a company vehicle.
• Prepare, stage, load, and secure equipment for transport to support field ops.
• Mobolize equipment and follow DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Assist with shop organization, housekeeping, and routine maintenance.
• Communicate with vendors to place, confirm, and track orders; resolve discrepancies.
• Plan daily routes and trips; maintain logs and basic inventory records.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report issues.

Job Summary

The Parts Runner supports field operations and maintenance by ensuring the right parts, tools, equipment, and supplies arrive where and when they are needed. This role combines transportation, material handling, equipment mobilization, vendor coordination, and shop support activities to keep crews productive and assets in service across the Eastern Region.

Essential Functions

• Determined. Deploy maintenance inventory, parts, tools, and supplies throughout the Eastern Region using a company vehicle; verify accuracy against pick lists, purchase orders, and delivery documentation.
• Committed to serve. Prepare, stage, load, and secure equipment, tools, and materials for transport to support field operations and maintenance activities.
• Safety always wins. Safely mobilize equipment using a non-CDL truck and trailer combination while following load securement requirements, DOT regulations, and company safety standards.
• Dedication. Assist with daily shop organization, housekeeping, and routine maintenance activities to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
• Respect and engage. Communicate daily with vendors and suppliers to place and confirm orders, track delivery schedules, resolve discrepancies, and ensure the correct products and materials are received.
• Results matter. Independently plan and schedule an efficient and productive workday, including delivery routes, equipment movements, vendor pickups, and other assigned tasks; maintain trip logs, delivery records, and basic inventory documentation.
• Protect family and friends. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, report equipment issues promptly, and comply with all company, DOT, site safety, and drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Requirements, Education And Experience

• Valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record.
• Willingness to obtain a valid DOT Medical Card / Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach.
• Comfortable operating a non-CDL truck and trailer; able to secure loads per best practices.
• Proven ability to prioritize, route efficiently, and work independently.
• Basic familiarity with parts, tools, and equipment used in construction/maintenance
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Travel

This position may be based out of either the Palmer, MA or Westfield, MA facility and requires regular travel throughout the Eastern Region.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Heavy work includes moving objects up to 50 lb. or more. This position works on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, bending, squatting, walking, reaching, and repetitive motion.
