LKQ Corporation in Joplin, MO is seeking a Parts Handler to perform day-to-day yard or warehouse duties. You will safely locate, retrieve, and prep automotive parts, and handle paperwork for shipments.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, basic math skills, and the ability to use Outlook, Word, and Excel. Forklift experience is a plus; full-time hours with benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

• Find/Retrieve parts in yard or warehouse.
• Package parts for delivery or prep.
• Handle paperwork related to parts and orders.
• Pull work orders and prep all sheet metal and other orders.
• Use hand and power tools to remove parts from cars.
• Operate a forklift or order picker when needed.
• Tag parts for destination and communicate with Sales/Dispatch.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area.

This position may be directed by the Production/Yard Leader to assure that the parts are handled in a safe, efficient, and proper manner.Essential Job DutiesSafely maneuver around the yard or warehouse.Find/Retrieve parts.Package parts for delivery/or preppingAny paperwork involved with the parts.Pull work orders.Use hand tools and power tools to remove parts from cars.Operate a powered industrial truck (forklift) or order picker.Pull and prep all sheet metal and other orders.Tag all parts properly for the destination.Communicate with Sales and Dispatch.Must display a positive and friendly attitude as well as appropriate behavior during work hours.Cleanliness must be maintained in the work area.Assume other duties as assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNot responsible for supervising employees.Minimum RequirementsEducation & ExperienceHigh School Diploma/GED.Preferred RequirementsA working knowledge of automotive parts.Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc.Basic messages communicated orally. May write brief messages and keep simple records. May explain and offer guidance on routine procedures.Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive, and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.Decisions generally affect own job or assigned functional area.Results are defined and existing practices are used as guidelines for how to complete work activities; works closely with supervisor/manager who provides broad guidance and overall direction.Prioritize assigned and routine tasks.
