Job summary

Kelly Services in Ankeny, IA is seeking a Parts Procurement Coordinator for a 1-year contract. The role focuses on coordinating material flow, ensuring parts availability, and maintaining inventory accuracy using SAP, CREO, AutoCAD, and Power BI. Strong MS Office skills and the ability to read 2D drawings are essential.

You will participate in creating routings and programs, forecasting needs, and collaborating with multiple departments to optimize production efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree requirement or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Read and interpret 2D drawings/prints.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate flow of materials across departments including shipping and receiving.
  • Ensure production teams have parts via inventory accuracy and timely deliveries.
  • Oversee movement of rejected material and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve material shortages and inventory errors.
  • Create and edit manufacturing routings and programs for fabrication operations.
  • Monitor production inventory and forecast future needs.
  • Communicate with internal teams and coordinate with Supply Management on parts availability.
  • Prepare and update daily and weekly reports using Excel and MS Office.

Pay Rate: $28.00 per hour (1-year Contract)

Shift: 1st Shift - Monday to Friday, Flexible start at 6:00 AM. Overtime: Possible based on business needs.

What’s a typical day as Parts Procurement Coordinator? You’ll be:
  • Coordinating the flow of materials across multiple departments, including shipping and receiving.
  • Ensuring production teams have the parts they need by overseeing inventory accuracy and timely deliveries.
  • Managing the movement of rejected material and implementing procedures to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Investigating and resolving material shortages and inventory errors.
  • Creating and editing manufacturing routings and programs for fabrication operations.
  • Monitoring production inventory and forecasting future needs.
  • Communicating with internal teams and coordinating with Supply Management on parts availability.
  • Preparing and updating daily and weekly reports using Excel and other MS Office tools.
  • Occasionally designing and modeling simple parts for shop use.
  • Troubleshooting part requests and diagnosing issues with laser programs and manufacturing routings.
  • Utilizing tools and systems such as SAP, CREO, AutoCAD, Lantek, Radan, and Microsoft Office.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
  • Have an Associate degree in Pre-Engineering, Manufacturing/Engineering Technology, Computer-Aided Drafting, or related field, or possess equivalent experience.
  • Bring experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office, with strong skills in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Possess strong organizational, analytical, and communication abilities.
  • Can read and interpret 2D drawings/prints.
  • Have experience with CREO and AutoCAD, and familiarity with SAP and Power BI.
  • Understand inventory management practices and are comfortable with technology.
  • (Preferred) Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • (Preferred) Have mechanical aptitude, problem‑solving skills, and knowledge of sheet metal or other fabrication processes.
