Job description

Summary:

The Heavy-Duty Dealership Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing the parts department, ensuring efficient operations, and providing exceptional customer service. This role involves managing inventory, supervising staff, and collaborating with other departments to meet the dealership's goals.

Essential Duties:
  1. Assess present and future needs, trends, problems, and profit opportunities of the Parts Department.
  2. Establish short and long-term operating and financial objectives for the Parts Department within the company's overall plans and policies.
  3. Ensure that approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied within the department.
  4. Formulate annual and monthly sales/profit objectives and expense budgets in accordance with company objectives.
  5. Review and appraise the results of activities within the department and take appropriate actions as necessary.
  6. Develop merchandising strategies to ensure objectives are achieved.
  7. Maintain appropriate communication between all departments within the branch.
  8. Promote safe work habits and ensure safety rules are followed.
  9. Develop and maintain policies and practices that ensure positive customer relations.
  10. Stay informed about the activities of competitors, market conditions, and department operations; keep the Branch Manager informed.
  11. Conduct regular sales meetings.
  12. Train and develop parts department personnel.
  13. Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Parts Department Management or related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of all phases of the Parts Department.
  • Excellent leadership qualities and a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to work weekends and extra hours when needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Work Environment:

The employee will be exposed to moving parts, grease, chemicals, dust, dirt, and outdoor weather conditions. The position requires standing and walking for extended periods and lifting at least 50 pounds. Availability for extra hours, including nights and weekends, is also required.
