Job summary

Webb Automotive Group in Oak Lawn, IL, is seeking a Parts Manager to lead the Parts Department. You will oversee parts counter-people and drivers, forecast goals, manage inventory across service, wholesale, and retail, and set pricing to balance profit with customer loyalty.

This role requires a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and experience in auto parts sales; strong organization and leadership skills; and the ability to navigate regulatory compliance and safety standards while delivering

Qualifications

  • Experience with auto parts sales preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
  • Must have a clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
  • Background Check and Drug Screen required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage Parts Counter-people and Parts Drivers.
  • Forecast and achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Manage balanced inventory for service, wholesale, and retail needs; adjust to maximize turnover and minimize obsolescence.
  • Set pricing for each customer category to ensure profit while fostering customer loyalty.
  • Supervise stock orders, special orders, and tagging for factory credit recovery.
  • Analyze sales, expenses, and inventory monthly to meet profit goals; develop profitable wholesale parts program.
  • Maintain high-quality service for external and internal customers.
  • Collaborate with the service manager to ensure timely turnaround of parts for all jobs.
  • Hold department meetings and optimize operations.
  • Provide technical support and coordinate paperwork, shipping, and receiving.
  • Manage payroll records for parts department employees.
  • Create and upkeep schedule for Parts Department staff.
  • Hire, train, and evaluate Parts Department staff.
  • Develop sales promotions and follow incentive programs.
  • Handle customer complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction.

  • Develop sales promotions, utilize co-op advertising, and follow incentive programs
  • Handle customer complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction
  • Support collections of past-due accounts and assist with accounting processes
  • Enforce safety requirements, including Hazmat & OSHA compliance and processing MSDS sheets on all products
  • Stay updated and comply with federal, state, and local regulations affecting parts sales
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience with auto parts sales preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Must have a clean driving record and hold a valid driver’s license
  • Must be willing and able to submit to a Background Check and Drug Screen
