Job summary

Webb Automotive in the Chicagoland area is seeking a Parts Manager – Full Time to lead our Parts Department. The role focuses on inventory control, pricing, and driving profitability while delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will supervise counter staff and drivers, forecast departmental goals, and collaborate with the service team to maintain timely parts availability for all jobs. A strong work ethic and experience in auto parts sales are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with auto parts sales preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read safety and maintenance documents.
• Ability to calculate discounts, commissions, and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage Parts Counter-people and Parts Drivers.
• Forecast and achieve departmental goals and objectives.
• Manage balanced inventory for service, wholesale, and retail needs.
• Set pricing for each customer category to ensure profit and loyalty.
• Supervise stock orders and tagging for factory credits.
• Analyze sales, expenses, and inventory monthly to meet profit goals.
• Maintain high-quality service for external and internal customers.
• Collaborate with service manager to ensure timely turnaround of parts.
• Hire, train, and evaluate Parts Department staff.
• Develop promotions and co-op advertising; follow incentive programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage Parts Counter-people and Parts Drivers
• Forecast and achieve departmental goals and objectives
• Manage balanced inventory for service, wholesale, and retail needs; adjust to maximize turnover and minimize obsolescence
• Set pricing for each customer category to ensure profit while fostering customer loyalty
• Supervise stock orders, special orders, and tagging for factory credit recovery
• Analyze sales, expenses, and inventory monthly to meet profit goals; develop a profitable wholesale parts program
• Maintain high-quality service for both external and internal customers
• Collaborate with the service manager to ensure timely turnaround of parts for all jobs
• Hold department meetings, attend manager meetings, and optimize departmental operations
• Provide technical support and coordinate paperwork, shipping, and receiving for the Parts DepartmentManage payroll records for parts department employees
• Create and upkeep schedule for Parts Department staff
• Hire, train, and evaluate Parts Department staff
• Develop sales promotions, utilize co-op advertising, and follow incentive programs
• Handle customer complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction
• Support collections of past-due accounts and assist with accounting processes
• Enforce safety requirements, including Hazmat & OSHA compliance and processing MSDS sheets on all products
• Stay updated and comply with federal, state, and local regulations affecting parts sales

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience with auto parts sales preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
• Must have a clean driving record and hold a valid driver’s license
• Must be willing and able to submit to a Background Check and Drug Screen
