Midwest Machinery Co. is seeking a Parts Department manager in Grand Meadow, MN. The role focuses on leading parts operations, improving processes and driving customer satisfaction while maximizing ROI through inventory control and cost management.

The candidate will develop department strategies, coordinate promotions across locations, and oversee staff recruiting, training and performance. A background in parts operations and leadership is required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 1+ year in Parts Department ops or equivalent.
• Experience leading others and driving process improvements.
• Proficiency in MS Office and inventory/good communication skills.
• Forklift experience is a plus and certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enforce and monitor Parts Dept processes to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Promote and merchandise parts and accessories across store locations.
• Create and execute annual Parts Dept goals aligned with financials.
• Develop and monitor the Parts Dept marketing plan monthly.
• Maintain accurate inventory control with perpetual/physical counts.

Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $72,500.00 Salary

The approximate base compensation range is posted, but the actual offer will reflect our total compensation and benefits package. The offer will be determined by a number of factors including the selected candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.

Purpose:

Manages parts operations within the dealership to provide the highest level of external and internal customer satisfaction while maximizing return on investment through parts sales, inventory control, and expense control. Optimizes parts department processes. Consistently exhibits Midwest Machinery Company's core purpose and values.

Responsibilities:

• Develops, communicates, enforces and monitors effective Parts Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
• Promotes and merchandises parts and accessories in conjunction with other store locations
• Participates in creating, and executes, annual Parts Department goals in alignment with the organizations financial and operational objectives
• Develops and executes Parts Department marketing plan and monitors monthly to ensure achievement of departmental goals
• Maintains an accurate and effective parts inventory control system that includes a perpetual and/or annual physical inventory and proper counter procedures
• Submits all parts warranty to Central Warranty Administrator
• Submits all return claims within the required time frame to receive maximum credit
• Makes regular personal visits to customers (and potential customers)during the off months (Dec., Jan, Feb., July and Aug.) to increase and solidify business
• Maximizes use of all order discount programs to achieve management stock order goals
• Ensures all department tools, equipment and vehicles are in good working order
• Manages recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for employees reporting to this position
• Attracts, retains, and effectively engages department personnel
• Participates in parts EDUCATE training program required for the development of skills and knowledge
• Attends to, and resolves, employee and inter-departmental issues in a fair and expedient manner
• Actively participates in a local civic, charitable or community organization: holds office in same at least once every 4 years
• Maintains and promotes a safe work environment. Demonstrates understanding of and ability to follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
• Performs other duties as assigned

QualificationsExperience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:

• High School Diploma/GED/Associates Degree and 1+ year experience in Parts Department operations or equivalent combination of experience and education
• Experience leading others
• Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
• Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
• Basic understanding of financial principles relative to Parts Department operations
• Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to use a forklift/skid loader, forklift certification preferred

Physical and Mental and Other Requirements:

• Frequent bending and stooping
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Standing for extended periods of time
• Climbing/using ladders
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends
• Valid drivers license with an insurable driving record required
• Must pass a pre-employment background study
