Job description

Classic & Custom Restorations (CCR) is a premier classic automobile restoration company located in Dallas, GA, specializing in frame-off restorations of classic Ford Mustangs, trucks, and Broncos, as well as other manufacturers and models. We are looking for an organized, resourceful, and automotive-minded Parts Manager to take ownership of the parts process for our restoration projects.

Position Summary

The Parts Manager is responsible for making sure our technicians have the correct parts, materials, and supplies they need to keep projects moving efficiently.

This is not a typical dealership parts-counter position. Restoration work often requires researching obsolete components, comparing reproduction parts, tracking down hard-to-find original pieces, coordinating with specialty vendors, and making sure every order is assigned to the correct vehicle and project.

The right person will be highly organized, comfortable researching automotive parts, persistent when solving sourcing problems, and able to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time.

Responsibilities
  • Research, source, quote, and order parts for classic vehicle restoration and custom-build projects
  • Identify correct parts using vehicle information, measurements, photographs, catalogs, vendor resources, and technician input
  • Source OEM, reproduction, aftermarket, used, rebuilt, and specialty components as appropriate
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with parts suppliers and specialty vendors
  • Compare vendors based on price, availability, quality, shipping time, and suitability for the build
  • Create and manage purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing records
  • Track outstanding orders, backorders, shipping status, and expected delivery dates
  • Receive incoming parts and verify orders for accuracy, quantity, condition, and quality
  • Address incorrect, damaged, missing, or defective parts and coordinate returns or replacements
  • Label, organize, and stage parts by vehicle/project
  • Keep technicians and management informed about parts availability and potential delays
  • Anticipate upcoming parts needs based on project schedules and shop workflow
  • Help prevent project delays caused by missing or incorrectly ordered parts
  • Maintain accurate records of parts costs associated with each customer project
  • Assist with inventory control for commonly used shop supplies and materials
  • Coordinate returns, credits, warranties, cores, and exchanges
  • Help identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency and control parts costs
What We're Looking For
  • Strong automotive knowledge and ability to identify and research vehicle components
  • Experience in automotive parts, restoration, repair, collision, performance, dealership, or a related automotive environment
  • Excellent organizational and follow-through skills
  • Strong computer and internet research skills
  • Comfortable communicating with vendors by phone and email
  • Ability to manage a large number of open orders and details without losing track of them
  • Ability to prioritize urgent needs while continuing to manage long-term restoration projects
  • Strong attention to detail—ordering the wrong part can cost both time and money
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technicians, management, vendors, and other team members
  • Self-motivated and comfortable taking ownership of problems through resolution
Preferred Experience

Experience with classic cars and trucks is highly desirable. Familiarity with Ford vehicles, first-generation Mustangs, classic trucks, restoration parts suppliers, aftermarket performance components, and restomod builds is a plus.

Previous experience as an automotive Parts Manager, Parts Specialist, Service Advisor, Restoration Project Coordinator, or similar position required.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Parts Manager at CCR keeps the shop moving.

Technicians aren't waiting unnecessarily for parts. Orders are accurate and accounted for. Parts are easy to locate when they're needed. Backorders and problems are identified early. Vendors are followed up with. Project costs are properly documented. And when an unusual 50+ year old component needs to be found, you're the person who figures out where to get it.

Join the CCR Team

At Classic & Custom Restorations, you'll be part of a team that values craftsmanship, integrity, and excellence. If you're an automotive professional who enjoys solving problems, tracking down hard-to-find parts, staying organized, and being an important part of building exceptional classic vehicles, we'd like to hear from you.
