Job summary

Hunter Truck in Butler, PA is hiring a Full-Time Parts/Delivery Clerk to coordinate daily deliveries, verify invoices, log deliveries, and maintain warehouse accuracy. You will work closely with the Parts Manager and drivers to ensure timely, accurate parts handling.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, a valid license, basic math and communication skills, and ASE or Medium/Heavy Truck Parts Specialist certification is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; 1–3 months related experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license; must meet insurability standards and be able to drive county/state lines.
  • ASE certification or Medium/Heavy Truck Parts Specialist certification preferred.
  • Able to read instructions/manuals, write routine reports, and communicate with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily deliveries and pickups with the Parts Manager, inventory control, parts counter, and shipping/receiving teams.
  • Verify invoices match parts and check payments before leaving for deliveries.
  • Maintain logs of all deliveries and pickups; obtain signatures for each delivery.
  • Unload trucks nightly and process paperwork, cores, and undelivered parts.
  • Perform basic truck maintenance: fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and inspections up to date.
  • Complete weekly vehicle checklists and consult the branch safety council on concerns.
  • Ensure vehicle has required safety items (fire extinguisher, safety triangles, first aid kit, GPS, EZ Pass, insurance, registration, fuel card).
  • Report major truck repairs/needs to Parts Manager.
  • Maintain professional appearance of parts department and work vehicle.
  • Unpack and route shipments; record shortages; coordinate with inventory control to resolve issues.
  • Match shipment details against invoices and bills for accuracy.
  • Determine whether parts are for pickup, delivery, or shop repair orders.
  • Stock parts, keep warehouse organized and accessible.
  • Conduct inventory counts with inventory control; handle off-site counts when needed.
  • Identify slow-moving inventory and suggest stocking locations; provide feedback on max levels.
  • Work with returns to OEM manufacturers, meeting shipment requirements and deadlines.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely; report repairs.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and warehouse supplies.
  • Collaborate with drivers and sales staff to stage parts for delivery or pickup.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.

POSITION AT A GLANCE

Location: Butler, PA

Position Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

What You’ll Do
  • Coordinate daily deliveries and pickups with the Parts Manager, inventory control, parts counter, and shipping/receiving teams.
  • Verify invoices match parts and check payments before leaving for deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate logs of all deliveries and pickups; obtain signatures for each delivery.
  • Unload trucks each night and turn in all paperwork, cores, and undelivered parts.
  • Perform basic truck maintenance, including fueling, checking oil, keeping the truck clean, and ensuring inspections are up to date.

  • Ensure vehicle is equipped with all required safety and operational items (fire extinguisher, safety triangles, first aid kit, GPS, EZ Pass, insurance, registration, fuel card).
  • Report major truck repairs and maintenance needs to the Parts Manager.
  • Help maintain the professional appearance of the parts department and your work vehicle.
  • Unpack, inspect, and route incoming shipments; record shortages, reject damaged items, and coordinate with inventory control to resolve issues.
  • Compare shipment details against invoices, bills of lading, orders, or other records to ensure accuracy for both incoming and outgoing parts.
  • Determine if parts are for pickup at the parts counter, delivery to customers, or shop repair orders.
  • Stock parts accurately, maintain a clean and organized warehouse, and keep items easily accessible.
  • Conduct inventory counts with inventory control, including off-site consignment counts when needed.
  • Assist in identifying slow-moving inventory, suggest optimal stocking locations, and provide feedback on max inventory levels.
  • Work with inventory control on returns to OEM manufacturers, meeting shipment requirements and deadlines.
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, hand trucks, etc.) and personal protective equipment; report any equipment needing repair.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and warehouse supplies.
  • Collaborate with drivers and outside sales staff to stage parts for delivery or pickup.
  • Adhere to and promote all health and safety policies to reinforce a safe working environment
What You Bring
  • Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred; 1–3 months of related experience (or equivalent combination).
  • Driving & Safety: Valid driver’s license required, must meet company insurability standards, and be able to drive across county and state lines.
  • Communication Skills: Able to read instructions and manuals, write routine reports, and communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Certifications: ASE certification or Medium/Heavy Truck Parts Specialist certification preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Regularly stand and walk; occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly and over 100 lbs occasionally; vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
