Company Description
The Parts Counterperson provides exceptional service at the parts counter, assisting customers with inquiries, processing orders, and ensuring the seamless flow of parts to our service technicians. The role involves maintaining optimal inventory levels, collaborating with vendors, and staying informed about the latest automotive advancements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist customers at the parts counter with inquiries and expert advice on parts selection.
- Handle phone inquiries regarding parts availability, pricing, and compatibility.
- Process parts orders efficiently and accurately for timely delivery.
- Collaborate with vendors and maintain accurate shipment records.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels to meet demand.
- Conduct stock checks, reconcile discrepancies, and update inventory records.
- Use technical knowledge to help identify correct parts for repairs and maintenance.
- Stay informed about new products and automotive parts advancements.
- Handle cash transactions and provide receipts.
- Coordinate with service and sales departments for seamless parts order management.
Additional Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate last-minute pick-ups or deliveries with relevant departments.
- Deliver parts to the body shop and technicians, verifying invoices and payments.
- Maintain logs of deliveries and pickups, collecting signatures.
- Assist with delivery truck maintenance and report major repairs needed.
- Support the service department with car drop-off and pick-up responsibilities.
- Assist in stocking and posting orders for efficient shop operations.
- Follow all safety policies and report accidents immediately.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in an automotive dealership parts department.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to build rapport.
- Knowledge of automotive parts and applications.
- Familiarity with inventory systems and basic computer skills.
- Detail-oriented with organizational and multitasking skills.
- Authorized to work in the USA.
- Willing to undergo pre-employment drug testing, background check, and MVR.
