Job summary

Webb Automotive is seeking a Parts Counterperson to join our team in Illinois. The role supports sales, inventory management, and daily order fulfillment in a fast-paced dealership setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with auto parts sales preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must have a clean driving record and hold a valid driver’s license.
• Must be willing and able to submit to a Background Check and Drug Screen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish.
• Communicate with customers on parts status.
• Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
• Review body shop estimates to ensure correct parts and pricing.
• Receive and process payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
• Pull and fill orders from stock.
• Read and understand the parts catalog when looking up parts.
• Maintain weekly bin checks to ensure stock accuracy.
• Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or urgent materials.
• Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit emergency orders.

• Tuesday: 7:00am-4:00pm
• Wednesday: 8:00am-7:00pm
• Thursday: 7:00am-3:00pm
• Friday: 7:00am-4:00pm
• Saturday: 7:30am-3:00pm
• Hour lunch every day

The ideal candidate for this position has strong customer service skills and the ability to manage inventory while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish

• Review body shop estimates to be sure the parts that are ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate
• Receive and process payment from retail customers or obtaining credit authorization
• Pull and fill orders from stock
• Read and understand the parts catalog when looking up parts
• Maintain weekly bin checks to ensure accuracy of stock
• Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention
• Locate out-of-stock parts from outside source and submit an emergency order, if necessary
• Make sure all authorized requests for parts are billed on service repair order
• Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Answer phone calls; provide price quotes and other information
• Provide high level service to internal and external customers
• Ensure all warranty parts are returned and tagged according to the manufacturer's guidelines

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience with auto parts sales preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
• Must have a clean driving record and hold a valid driver’s license
• Must be willing and able to submit to a Background Check and Drug Screen
